Happy Pretty Messy is a modern-day inspirational guidebook for women of all ages seeking to live with beauty and bravery. As a modern lifestyle philosopher, Natalie Wise brings her trademark poetic prose to finding and cultivating balance, joy, and depth of self in daily life. You’ll also learn Wise’s secrets to enjoying the “everyday arts”—such as keeping home, keeping in touch, and creating memories. Wise writes, “Sometimes we don’t even realize our hearts are broken. We are fragile creatures, really. A heart has to search to set itself aright just about every moment. That is, unless there is an equilibrium we choose. A balancing point, a weight transfer where things even out and we decide to call life in all of its gutsandglory: Enough. What I have is enough. Life is tenuous and precious. I say that with certainty. And I say with even more certainty: that is why I celebrate the every day.” From cultivating your inner self to creating community and the perfect homemade latte, Happy Pretty Messy inspires a life that flourishes with charm, color, caffeine and, most importantly, courage. Finding value in these things might be the most important thing you do, so grab this book and dig in today.

Super Genes by Deepak Chopra M.D. and Rudolph E. Tanzi PH.D. Book Review

20170303_205933_001 5.jpg

The book Super Genes by New York Times Bestselling Authors Deepak Chopra and Dr. Rudolph Tanzi explores epigenetics, conscious behavior of the environment and how these interact to affect your health and well-being. After reading this book, I felt there is a lot of loose ends. Some were tied with logical facts that help you to understand how you are a part of something that is much more ancient that most scientists give credit to. I feel this book does a lot of repeating throughout the chapters. It does explain how what you eat and how you deal with stress effects your overall health. Also, it takes into account your DNA and how your parents and other relatives plays a big part of your health. Long before you are born your DNA will determine your future health risks and problems. I feel this book is a good read even though it is repetitive.  I do like how this book and the authors explain different cases. They tell you about real people and how that person’s life was changed, sometimes for the better. Also, they go in depth about case studies and experiments, I received this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for by honest and unbiased review. I do not think this is a book that I would have purchased on my own. I feel that receiving the book free is why I read this book. I do like reading books about health and ways to improve your health, However, I just was not that impressed with this book.

Truly Madly Famously by Rebecca Serle

Truly Madly FAmously by Rebecca Serle is the second book in the Famous in Love series.  I read the first book,  Famous in Love and fell in love with the characters Paige, Rainer and Jordan. I love how this book picks up where the first book left off. Truly Madly Famously is about Paige and Rainer’s relationship once they get back to L.A.  but with a twist ending that you really do not see coming. I love how Rebecca Serle’s writing helps you get lost in the story. There are many parts of the story that you can relate to at any age.  A great young adult series!

From Amazon.com: After being plucked from obscurity, Hollywood’s newest It Girl, Paige Townsen, has a blockbuster film to her name and Rainer Devon on her arm. But being half of the world’s most famous couple comes with a price. No matter where Paige goes, someone is always watching. Soon she finds herself dodging photographers; hiding her feelings for her other costar, Jordan Wilder; and weathering tabloid scandals that threaten to tear her and Rainer apart–and end her career as quickly as it began. As she navigates her new L.A. life in this exciting sequel to Famous in Love, Paige finds that she doesn’t know who to trust: Old friends could be betraying her secrets, and new friends are keeping secrets of their own.
