My thoughts: I really enjoyed reading TOUGHEST COWBOY IN TEXAS! This is the first book in the Happy, Texas Book series and it does not disappoint. The story centers around Brody and Lila who where high school sweethearts. They had to keep their relationship a secret from his family and everyone in town because Lila has a reputation of being the town’s wild child. Brody’s family has labeled her nothing but trouble and demand that he stay away from her because she will ruin his future. After, Lila’s dad dies her mother decides to move them out of state in hopes to save her daughter from heartbreak that only Brody can bring. Now, twelve years later Lila is back in twon running her mother’s cafe while hoping to sell it by the end of summer. She has changed a lot over the years and is now a high school English teacher in Florida. Brody now runs Hope Springs, the family ranch, with his brother Jace and sister Kasey. It does not take long for the rumor mill to spread that Lila is back in town causing Brody’s mom and grandmother to demand he stay away. After all the years he finally decides to stand up to them and heads to the cafe. The sparks fly as soon as they see each other. Can they rekindle their secret romance or will life and time away from each other stand between them? Brown has written a hot and steamy romantic western with a sexy cowboy and a woman with a wild side. The characters are realistic and real. This book has lots of drama, hope, friendship, family, love, and second chances all making for a great read. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romantic western. ** I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
