Katie RuggleAbout the author: A fan of the old adage “write what you know”, Katie Ruggle lived in an off-grid, solar- and wind-powered house in the Rocky Mountains until her family lured her back to Minnesota. When she’s not writing, Katie rides horses, shoots guns (not while riding, although that would be awesome), cross-country skis (badly) and travels to warm places where she can scuba dive. A graduate of the Police Academy, Katie received her ice-rescue certification and can attest that the reservoirs in the Colorado mountains really are that cold. A fan of anything that makes her feel like a bad-ass, she has trained in Krav Maga, boxing and gymnastics. You can connect with Katie on her Website    Facebook or  Twitter

My thoughts: I really enjoy reading The Rocky Mountain K9 Unit Book Series by Katie Ruggle. This book is the second book in the series and is a non-stop action-packed novel that is full of suspense with a touch of romance. This book focuses on Grace (aka Kaylee) and Hugh. Both have an uncanny sense of humor with a comeback remark to everything that is thrown their way. Together they are so much alike that they are prefect together. After escaping a very close brush with death, another can be found just around the next corner. They both have people that would want them dead but who is the one that is behind these attacks? Hugh is the only Officer on the Monroe, Colorado Police Department with a K9 narcotics detection expert named, Lexi. He has a long list of people that he has arrested that would want revenge. Grace (Kaylee) is running from her ex-boyfriend’s uncle who wants her dead in order to keep his illegal secrets quiet. Hugh feels a strong attraction immediately and feels they are better if they stick together. Grace tries to protest but without much effort because she has just as much of an attraction to Hugh. So, they stick together with all their bickering and banter that would often get real heated. Soon all the tension explodes and the sparks fly. Ruggle does her research and it shows in her writing. The setting is perfectly written with such remarkable detail and description that you feel like you are in the Rockies right alongside the K9 Officers. The characters all have very intriguing backstories that mesh with the plot line making this one explosive read full of hot steamy romance and action-packed suspense scenes that will leave you wanting more. I highly recommend this book series and look forward to reading more from Katie Ruggle. ** I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. **
