This month Book of the Month has a sci-fi thriller, The Blinds, about a small town where everyone’s memory has been wiped. Book of the Month’s other four selections include a thrilling tale about how far a mother will go to protect her son, a young adult novel about a girl juggling life and love, a big-hearted story of Ireland and identity, and a darkly comic take on addiction.

One of BOTM August extras is The Lying Game, the new novel from the author of The Woman in Cabin 10 (which was a 2016 BOTM Book of the Year Finalist and member favorite). The other two extras are The Clockwork Dynasty, a novel of the centuries-old war between humanity and a race of sentient machines, and The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan’s classic tale of mothers and daughters. BOTM members can add these to their boxes for only $9.99.
