Blurb: Welcome to Pine Bridge, a small town where secrets are rife, personal is everyone’s business, and passion is high. With the disappearance of Rosalyn Ray, tensions soar and fingers point in every direction: the lover, the mother, the best friend, and the stalker. Frustrated by the search going nowhere, Rhett Calloway makes it his mission to discover the truth, find the girl, and win her heart. Some people in Pine Bridge say he’s obsessed. Some say he’s dangerous. Some say he’s hurt Rosalyn. All Rhett knows is he’s loved Rosalyn since they were kids and he’ll do what it takes to see her again. Stalker, My Love is an untraditional love story where fantasy clashes with reality, and happily ever after seems like an elusive dream. Told through four POVs, the story follows those closest to Rosalyn Ray. Goodreads / Amazon

Deputy Elliott Venice stared at her duty belt on the messy floor of somewhere she didn’t belong. Naked in bed, she dreaded the thought of rolling over and seeing the guy next to her. She kept her face turned away from him and tried to remember how she got there. I met Rosalyn and Mimi last night for drinks, right after work. Why didn’t I go home and change? I shouldn’t be here. I— He wrapped his arm around her, her skin prickling as he placed his hand flat on her stomach. Rough lips touched her shoulder. He slid back and forth against her ass until she whispered for him to stop. “What’s up, babe?” Earl Wick asked. “It’s me. Elly.” Earl yanked his head from the pillow and jerked away from her. “What? Why the shit are you here?” He lifted the sheets. “I’m naked. You’re naked. We had sex?” On her back, Elliott slid her hands over her eyes and moaned into her palms, hoping to vanish into some cavern nowhere near Pine Bridge. “How did this happen?” she whispered. “I… I don’t remember. You joined us at Haywood’s, and we were drinking. Oh shit. Rosalyn got pissed at me for something again. I don’t remember what. I was wasted. Were you even drinking?” Elliott dropped her hands and stared at Earl Wick. He had a built body but a face like a sixteen-year-old boy. His curly hair bounced as he shook his head and said, “Well?” “No, Earl. I stayed sober and slept with my best friend’s drunk-ass boyfriend.” She popped up onto her forearms. “Of course I was drunk! I drove us back to this dump and you insisted on bringing out the bourbon. I should have left.” “But you didn’t.” Earl placed his hand on her thigh, lightly rubbing her. “You stayed.” “What are you doing?” “We already did the deed. Why not again?” Her hands burning, Elliott threw the bedsheet from her body and jumped to her feet. She stumbled into the walls of Earl’s trailer as she searched for the rest of her uniform. An empty beer can pricked the bottom of her foot, launching her words into an angry burst of, “Shit! Damn it, Earl! Rosalyn is going to kill us. You know that, right? Maybe we didn’t do anything. Just tell me we didn’t do anything.” Earl held up a used condom. “We fucked.” “No. We didn’t. This is something Mimi would do. Not me.” “Mimi is a doorknob. I wouldn’t touch her if my life depended on it. Plus, Rosalyn doesn’t have to know about this. She doesn’t have to know a thing.” “This is Pine Bridge. She’s going to find out.” “How?” Elliott fastened her bra and then stepped into her brown pants. Before she could pull them all the way up her legs, Earl stood right in front of her. His chest nearly touched her nose, and he looked like he wanted to pin her to the bed. “Tell me how she’ll know,” he said. Elliott kept her feet planted, even when he grabbed her arm. She wouldn’t acknowledge his behavior and said, “Help me find my shirt.” “You’re not going to tell her.” “So you are?” “Why in the saggy balls would I do that?” “Because she’s my best friend and your girlfriend.” Earl squeezed her arm. “I know that.” “I’m a deputy. Let go of me.” “Oh, you’re a deputy? How did you get this gig again? Rosalyn’s mom? You didn’t even know how to shoot a gun. I had to teach you.” Elliott used both hands to snag Earl’s arm. She threw him to the bed. Before he got back up, she aimed her 9mm pistol at his face. “You did teach me. Now stay down.” Earl gulped. “Yes, ma’am.”
