Under The Lights by Abbi Glines is the second book in The Field Party Series. I read Until Friday Night awhile ago and when I saw this book I knew I had to read it as well. I must say I am a huge fan of Abbi Glines and love all of her books. So, it did not surprise me that I love this one just as much. This book picks up from where the other one left off but from two different characters and a new plot line for them. It all starts when Willa Ames moves back to town and in with her Nonna. Ms. Ames is the housekeeper for Gunner’s family and has been his whole life. That is where Gunner and Brady meet Willa for the first time. They where a lot younger then. Willa was in Gunner’s treehouse playing with his army men when they caught her. After that day the three of them where always together. That is until Willa’s mom sent for her and she moved away. Now, six years later she is back. Both Gunner and Brady are well aware of the fact that she has changed and not sure what as happened to make her come back. This reunion starts another case of them both fighting for her attention. This book struggles with adult issues that most teenagers don’t often have to face. Glines does an amazing job with the plot line and characters in this book. I will not spoil the ending even though it was a big surprise for me. You will have to read it yourself to find out. (from amazon.com) In the follow-up to Abbi Glines’s #1 New York Times bestseller Until Friday Night—which bestselling author Kami Garcia called “tender, honest, and achingly real”—three teens from a small southern town are stuck in a dramatic love triangle. Willa can’t erase the bad decisions of her past that led her down the path she’s on now. But she can fight for forgiveness from her family. And she can protect herself by refusing to let anyone else get close to her. High school quarterback and town golden boy Brady used to be the best of friends with Willa—she even had a crush on him when they were kids. But that’s all changed now: her life choices have made her a different person from the girl he used to know. Gunner used to be friends with Willa and Brady, too. He too is larger than life and a high school football star—not to mention that his family basically owns the town of Lawton. He loves his life, and doesn’t care about anyone except himself. But Willa is the exception—and he understands the girl she’s become in a way no one else can. As secrets come to light and hearts are broken, these former childhood friends must face the truth about growing up and falling in love…even if it means losing each other forever.
